Medical Careers
Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) is a vibrant 450 bed teaching hospital.
The hospital continues to build on its strong tradition of excellence, not only in the provision of high-quality clinical care, education and research, but also in fostering the unique RPH culture – a culture that encourages student to not only work hard and be dedicated learners, but to always support each other. This is evident in RPH's current Medical Educators, who have developed the State's first and best Junior Medical Officer wellbeing program, which has been embraced by junior medical staff.
RPH is home to quaternary-level trauma services (comprising the State Major Trauma Unit) and retains a substantial tertiary workload across most medical and surgical specialties with the Perth metropolitan area. There are prospects of exposure to almost all facets of medicine and surgery, including paediatrics and obstetrics/gynaecology. Several country rotations are available including Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital, Bunbury Regional Hospital and Hedland Health Campus.
