Multidisciplinary Foot Ulcer Clinic
The Multidisciplinary Foot Ulcer Clinic (MDFU) is a specialty clinic for the management of complex foot wounds. The team consists of Podiatrists, Vascular Surgeons, Infectious Diseases Physicians, Endocrinologists, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dietician, Wound Care Specialist, Pedorthist and a Silver Chain Liaison Nurse.
MDFU Eligibility Criteria
- Active foot ulcer (below the level of the malleoli).
- Must require at least 2 of the attending medical specialities (Endocrinology, Vascular, Infectious Diseases).
- Must live in East Metropolitan Health Service Catchment Area.
How to refer
Please include the following in your referral:
- medical and medication history
- history of presenting complaint (duration, location, prior treatment)
- pedal pulses present/absent
- clinical infection present/absent
- prior imaging, vascular tests, microbiology, blood work.
