Physiotherapy
The aim of Physiotherapy is to restore function to the body or to minimise dysfunction following an illness, disease or injury.
More than 100 physiotherapists in Royal Perth Hospital visit patients in wards and clinics to assist recovery and improve their quality of life.
A combination of education, manual therapy, movement re-education, physical intervention and electro-physical equipment is provided.
Their role
- Physiotherapy uses physical techniques to help treat medical conditions and injuries.
- Physiotherapists are registered healthcare practitioners trained in the structure and function of the human body and its movement.
- Physiotherapists can diagnose and treat a broad range of conditions.
Patients
Our Physiotherapists play an important role in helping major trauma patients.
We also help patients with haemophilia and those undergoing spinal or acquired brain injury rehabilitation.
